# Researching Books

The ruler's role in BLOCKLORDS includes establishing a[ library,](/game-mechanics/world-map/cities/city-buildings/library.md) a hub for learning and research. Inside this library, users manage their banner inventory, crucial for research and adventure unlocking. [Banners ](/economy/assets/banners.md)are imported into the library for research and book creation, a privilege reserved for rulers. <br>

Contributions from settlers in the region, who burn banners to earn learning points, lead to greater gold bounties. Successfully written books unlock new adventures within the region, allowing players to embark on them at the standard price, fostering a spirit of exploration and discovery.
