What is BLOCKLORDS?
BLOCKLORDS is a player-driven medieval grand strategy game where your decisions and skills shape the world and narrative. Choose from several playstyles, including farming, fighting, resource management, and ruling, and forge your own destiny as your hero. With innovative gameplay mechanics and a player-powered economy, will you reap the land or wreak havoc, forge alliances or go it alone, cooperate, or annihilate? The choice is yours. Join a worldwide community of gamers and experience the future of strategy gaming with BLOCKLORDS, created by MetaKing Studios, a diverse team renowned for their skills in creating experiences gamers will love. Creator/Director David Johansson, a former Hollywood & free-to-play game director, envisioned the concept of BLOCKLORDS in 2017. Johansson wanted to create an MMO, medieval universe combining the best features of iconic grand strategy games whilst allowing game players to own and create their own character stories and lore together in a shared BLOCKLORDS world with their Hero character
Why is this game in Early Access?
BLOCKLORDS is currently in its development phase. Releasing early access versions to let our community actively participate in shaping the game. While this stage might come with bugs and the need for gameplay adjustments, it's a collaborative effort that allows us to refine the game's economy, events, and other features with real-time feedback during our early seasons. As we march towards the full release, players can expect exciting new features like a progression system, an in-game store, dynasty systems, turf wars, both PVE and PVP modes, quests, challenges, enhanced social interactions, voice chat, and an adventure mode.
How do I create a character in BLOCKLORDS?
A Hero will be randomly created upon starting your journey. You'll be able to collect more as you play through special events!
Are there any in-game tutorials or guides to help new players get started?
There is a tutorial in BLOCKLORDS! This will help you get to grips with the game mechanics and how to start your journey! There is a handy guide in game character that you can ask questions and they'll give you a helpful answer! Are there any PvE (Player vs. Environment) challenges or quests?
Yes, during the Open Beta, players can immerse themselves in the BLOCKLORDS universe through story pop-ups, presenting situations that require careful decision-making or PvE combat challenges. These scenarios can range from bear attacks from the forest to dealing with a collapsing fountain. As these events unfold, your villagers rally, and you are presented with various options to address each situation, allowing you to craft and navigate your unique journey.
What are the different resources in the game, and how do I gather them?
The game boasts a variety of resources such as wood, stone, stone bricks, wood planks,wheat, grain, food, meat, milk, bread, and gold. These are crucial for tasks like building construction, performing actions, recruiting heroes, and expanding your realm. To collect these resources, players can deploy their squads to partake in various in-game activities tailored for resource gathering.
How is blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency used in this product?
BLOCKLORDS utilizes blockchain technology to empower players to trade, interact with, and forge their own in-game experiences. Players are not mandated to engage with the blockchain aspect, the game doesn't directly incorporate cryptocurrency. Therefore, players can fully enjoy the MMO, Grand Strategy game without any interaction with NFTs.
What utility does this bring to the product?
Heroes outside the game function as tradable digital assets, providing ownership to the players. These heroes can be bought and sold based on their specific stats and attributes. Moreover, they can be transferred across any compatible chain using the game's off-chain currencies. This adds a layer of versatility and economic interaction to the gaming experience.
Does this product require me to connect an external wallet? What wallets does this product support?
Users are not required to connect to an external wallet. No on-chain activities happen within the BLOCKLORDS game. Users can connect via MetaMask, GameStop, Venly, Coinbase Wallet or create an email wallet with Magic Link.
Can I use the product without interacting or engaging with blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency?
Yes, the game itself takes place without NFTs. Users can trade and buy Heroes on the web but users are not required to interact with NFTs or blockchain unless they want to do so. Blockchain and NFTs are a means of trading in-game items with other players and having the freedom of where and how players want to trade them.
What chain does this product use? Is the chain proof-of-work or proof-of-stake?
BLOCKLORDS is compatible with Immutable X and Polygon. Players can use BLOCKLORDS Portal to move heroes from chain to chain, paying with in-game resource, gold.
Does this product have a marketplace? What can I do with the things that I earn (or purchase)?
BLOCKLORDS is compatible with both Immutable X and Polygon chains. Players have the flexibility to use the BLOCKLORDS Portal to transfer heroes between these chains, with the in-game resource, gold, facilitating the payment for such transfers.
What in-app or in-game purchases are offered in BLOCKLORDS?
During the BLOCKLORDS Open Beta, limited time resource packs and season passes will be made available for purchase.
Can BLOCKLORDS be used without making any in-app purchases?
Yes, BLOCKLORDS is fully playable without any purchases.
